Applications are invited from suitably qualified serving Officers in Kanungu District to fill the following vacant posts that exist in Kanungu District, Kambuga, Butogota, Kihihi and Kanungu Town Councils. 

The Application forms  – Public Service Form 3(PSF 3) Revised 2008, ESC Form 3(1998) revised  for Teachers and Applicants summary forms can be obtained   from the District Service Commission Office – Kanungu and should be submitted in triplicate to the Secretary Kanungu District Service Commission not later than 18th February 2021.

Applications should bear the title of the post as well as the reference number specified against the vacancy.  Applicants should attach certified copies of academic certificates, and other supporting documents and 3 recent passport size photographs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Grade III Teaching Certificate  or equivalent from a recognized institution
  • Registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports
  • Minimum  of six years teaching experience in the Primary Sector
  • Must have attended at least one certified workshop / seminar and two courses relevant to the profession.

Duties:

  • To prepare the schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the approved curriculum  on a termly and weekly basis respectively
  • To conduct lessons and remedial work according to the set timetable
  • To participate in setting, administering and marking internal and external examinations.
  • To carry out continuous assessment and evaluation of pupils performance.
  • To develop and improve on learning aids/ material.
  • To carry our Child studies and keep a profile for each pupil in the class

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Primary Education or the equivalent of this from a recognized Institution.
  • Must be registered with Ministry of Education & sports
  • Must have attended at least three workshops/seminars and three short courses relevant to the Profession.
  • Minimum of twelve years  teaching experience as a qualified Primary teacher, three of which should have been at Senior Education Assistant level or  two at  Principal Education Assistant of five years at Senior level with administrative responsibilities such as Head of Department, or Co-curricular activities etc.

Duties:

  • To prepare Schemes of work/lesson plans and teach students according to the set timetable;
  • To assist  the Head Teacher in the overall  administration  and management of the school
  • To supervise the non-teaching and support  staff
  • To ensure effective and efficient maintenance of records, material resources, facilities and information services for  efficient accountability;
  • To enforce discipline in the school;
  • To organize and assist in the management and implementation of the curriculum;
  • To oversee and coordinate the general environmental maintenance and renovations at the school

Duties:

  • Preparing and compiling reports on parish operations for the attention of the Sub-county Chief;
  • Collecting and accounting for Local revenue in the Parish;
  • Preparing work plans and budgets for the operations of the parish;
  • Enforcing the implementation of National and Local Government policies, Programmes and Council bye-laws in the parish;
  • Undertaking the mobilization of the Parish community for Government development Programmes and projects;

Duties:

  • Planning and budgeting for health services delivery in the Health Centre;
  • Managing and accounting for allocated medical, fiscal and other resources;
  • Diagnosing, treating and managing patients;
  • Managing health information management systems at  the HC IV,
  • Coordinating the procurement of equipment, drugs and other supplies for the Health Centre;
  • Carrying out supervision, staff performance appraisal and other HRM functions.
  • Coordination the implementation of the Uganda national Minimum Health Care Package in the HC,
  • Providing guidelines and enforcing adherence to Health service delivery standards;
  • Providing  technical guidance and  supervision of health Centres;
  • Overseeing the operationalization of the Occupation Health and Safety policy and guidelines in the HC;

  • Participating in planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation of Nursing Services in the health Unit/ Ward;

Qualifications:

Duties:

  • Providing custody for accounting records and documents
  • Processing deferred tax payments and  returns and keeping records thereof;
  • Posting financial transactions, cash books and subsidiary ledgers to general ledger and  updating  books of accounts
  • Preparing pay change  report and reconciling payroll transactions reports;
  • Entering transactions into the commitment control register
  • Providing custody of cash and imprest and effecting payments; and

Experience.

  • At least 3 years of working experience as an Accounts Assistant in Public or a reputable organization.

Duties:

  • Carrying out staff welfare management for Local Governments;
  • Planning and organizing the manpower  resource through recruitment; deployment, training, utilization and discharge as per schedule;
  • Providing technical advice to the Council and technical Departments on matters related to Human Resource  management Issues;

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture, Land Use and Management, Agribusiness, Agriculture and Rural Innovations, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension or other Agricultural sciences 
  • Must have a post Graduate qualification in any of the above disciplines from recognized university or training institution. .
  • A minimum of at least 6 years’ experience in agricultural operations, three of which should have been served at a Senior Agricultural Officer level in government or equivalent in a reputable organization.

Duties:

  • Develop plans, budgets and programs for crop sub sector;
  • Provide linkage, information flow and collaboration with MAAIF in general and the Directorate of Crop Resources in particular;
  • Initiate dissemination of improved planting materials, postharvest handling and processing technologies;
  • Coordinate registration and maintaining farmer registers at all times;
  • Promote farmer institutional development;
  • Maintaining and updating an inventory of agricultural extension service providers;
  • Promote agribusiness services;
  • Conduct training needs assessments and develop capacity building programs for extension staff, farmers and other stakeholders;
  • Coordinate all activities related to the crop sub-sector in the district;
  • Provide technical guidance to the district during planning regarding the crop sub-sector;
  • Provide quality assurance and auditing of all service providers in the crop sub-sector;
  • Coordinate control of crop diseases, weeds and pests;
  • Coordinate inspection and certification of crops and crop products;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on generation, dissemination and adoption of new crop technologies and commercialization of the sub sector;
  • Oversee the maintenance of a data bank on production, processing and marketing in the crop sub-sector and disseminate information to the stakeholders;
  • Support Public Private Partnership that promote value addition chains in the crop subsector;
  • Collaborate with the meteorological department to provide updates on weather forecast in the district;
  • Prepare reports to the district, MAAIF and other stakeholders and
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Kanungu District has received funds to recruit contract staff under the Water and sanitation grant from the Ministry of water and Environment.

Therefore, interested Ugandan applicants  are invited to fill  Application forms  – Public Service Form 3(PSF 3) Revised 2008 in triplicate obtained from Secretaries of District Service Commissions and Public Service Commission – Farmers House, Kampala )and submit them to the Secretary District Service Commission, P. O. Box 1 – Kanungu not later than 22nd February 2021 at 5:00pm.
